Miss Lisa’s Book Review – Wrigglies

Winter days can sometimes be a little long and boring, especially because we can’t play outside! We welcome you to come to our nice indoor jungle here at Amazone, game room, and laser tag area to come and get your “wrigglies” out and burn off some calories! However, if you can’t make it to us, and are looking for something, ANYTHING to do, have you considered spending time with a good book? Or, how about a GREAT book? You can jump into a new world, a creative world where your imagination can really soar! So, here are some favorites from an AMAZING author I would LOVE to recommend for the week:

Roald Dahl (3rd grade-6th grade readers, 2nd grade would love them read TO them) is a fantastic author that you would LOVE! His chapter books are filled with great images and creative stories, so why not read one to your child, read it together (each person taking a few pages and trading back and forth), or for your child to read themselves? The BFG, Matilda, The Witches, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and James and the Giant Peach will keep you occupied for days on end, or they would be a lively part of each daily routine. You won’t be disappointed with any of these choices!

Or, for smaller children here is a book that can create some activity, why not check out The Never Bored Kid Book, (Ages 5-6) by Joy Evans and Jo Ellen Moore? Tons of fun activity will take chunks out of your day as winter goes on. Books really CAN help you out during these cold indoor days…so enjoy!
